Frequently Asked Questions
  • What is the APM Program at HubSpot?
The Associate Product Manager program at HubSpot is focused on building HubSpot’s next generation of product leaders. It’s designed for early career professionals who are interested in product management, whether or not they have experience as a PM or in the technology industry. As a member of the APM program, you will have the opportunity to learn and work as a full-time Associate Product Manager at HubSpot, but with additional support and mentorship so you are set up for success early in your career.
We believe that the best leaders at HubSpot are those that grow within the company, and we want to do everything we can to empower the next generation of builders, innovators, and leaders at HubSpot.
  • What does a Product Manager at HubSpot do? How is a Product Manager at HubSpot different from other companies?
Product Managers at HubSpot are the owners of their product area, and share responsibility for its success alongside their Engineering Leads and UX Designers. This “triad” works together to create product experiences that delight our customers and drive value for our business.
The cool thing about the Product Manager job is that you get to solve problems and view your product area holistically -- which means you balance customer needs, competitor/market trends, business acumen and technical savviness to figure out how to solve customer problems in ways no one has thought of before.  It’s a super complex and interesting job, where no day is the same!
  • What would my day to day look like as an intern?
That really depends on your team. In general, you will join one of our product teams with support from your intern/co-op cohort, Senior Product Managers (SPMs), Designers and Engineers. We don’t have our interns/co-ops work on side projects – you will be working on something that makes a true impact.
You will be included in meetings to build relationships with the core teams in product, engineering, customers, design, sales and leadership. You will also execute essential tasks such as building roadmaps and development timelines, conducting customer research to discover unmet needs, creating evidence-based proposals for new products and features, conducting competitor analysis, or developing go-to-market strategies. And the list goes on. You will be involved in different steps of the product life cycle and help to work on a smooth transition between the stages.
  • Is the role in office, flex or remote?
As an APM you can choose between remote, in-office or flex.

    - Remote can be located anywhere within the US.
    - Flex means you come to the HubSpot office in Cambridge, MA 2 days or less per week.
    - In-Office means you come to the HubSpot office in Cambridge, MA at least 3 days per week.
